English Marmalade
by A E Everitt
About This Project
English Marmalade is part of the Hetherington Novel Series, set in a quintessential English Village where the perfect veneer hides a world of cult like control and deeply flawed characters who use wealth and position to manipulate. This is the story off the Lord of the Manor, Edward (Eddie) Danforth, the mastermind behind it all whose disillusion finally fractures his own world and that of his family. Love built on deceit, wealth accumulated through manipulation - and a reality that turns out to be nothing more than a web of pretty village lies.

As Eddie attracts his ire for not being strong enough. Lord Danforth decides to punish them both with a test - one they cannot possibly complete - and he ties them too each other by making them responsible for each others fate. Despite the pain and humiliation, the two create a bond - this is Eddies' introduction to a woman who will have a lifelong impact on him - Jennifer. She treats him with kindness and respect - and though he ultimately fails the test his father sets, her encouragement and support have a huge impact.

Did She Do It?
A fictionalised story based on real events. A love, triangle, a bitter jealousy, a brutal, life threatening assault... and a conviction. But did she do it? Based on a case in the 1990's, the evidence from which raised as many questions as it answered. Ultimately, the guilty verdict was in large part down to the evidence of a pioneering forensic expert in blood spatter patterning. What didn't come out, is that behind the scenes, complex emotional triangles and simmering resentment combined with unanswered questions about how it could be possible, suggest there was more to this than met the investigator's eyes.
